Biography

Matt Mills, an Atlanta native, has built a dynamic career in data science, working with both startups and Fortune 100 companies. Over the years, he has held key roles, including Director of Data Science at American Express, where he led initiatives to enhance customer insights and develop advanced machine learning models. Matt’s experience spans from developing risk models for small business lending portfolios to improving core risk models for large-scale financial operations.

While at Georgia Tech, Matt embraced a diverse academic path. He Co-oped, switched majors three times, and took advantage of study-abroad opportunities. As a brother of Gamma Tau, he served as Athletics Chair, Rush Chair, and Historian, fostering leadership skills and camaraderie.

Passionate about guiding others, Matt is eager to share his experiences, offer advice, and remind others that it’s perfectly fine not to have all the answers. For him, life is about living boldly and making the most of every opportunity.
